Utah State License and NREMT Alignment Dates

In an effort to make the licensing process easier, over the next year, the Utah Bureau of EMS is working on aligning the state of Utah EMS license expiration dates with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and/ or state-only users’ certified expiration dates.

As we work through this process, an email notification will be sent to you if your account needs adjustment. If your state of Utah EMS license and NREMT expiration dates are already aligned, then we will not be making any changes to your state of Utah expiration date.

In addition, going forward, the state will not renew your state EMS license until your NREMT expiration date has been renewed. For example, if both your NREMT and state license expire on March 31, 2025, we will not renew your state license until your NREMT expiration date shows March 31, 2027. You can start your application and enter CMEs into NREMT starting six months prior to your expiration date.
