Updated/New Material Released
Attention Course Coordinators, Training Officers, and EMS Instructors: Recent updates have been made to the Course Coordinator Manual, Training Officer Manual, and Student Handbook to reflect the rapid rule revision of R911-5. Please review these changes carefully to ensure compliance with the updated guidelines.
We want to emphasize that approval to test with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) will not be granted until a criminal background check has been completed, cleared, and approved by the Bureau of EMS. This applies to:
- Individuals seeking initial licensure, and
- Individuals seeking relicensure who do not have a current background check on file.
All background checks must comply with the Department of Public Safety’s Direct Access Clearance System (DACS).
Your attention to these updates is essential to maintaining program integrity and ensuring testing eligibility requirements are met.
