Overview
The Initial Course Coordinator Course is designed to prepare EMS professionals for the responsibilities of a Course Coordinator.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the EMS Course Coordinator endorsement, applicants must:
- Hold a current EMS Instructor endorsement.
- Serve as a co coordinator of record for at least one BEMS approved initial course under the supervision of an endorsed Course Coordinator.
- The course you co-coordinate must be at the level you wish to coordinate or higher.
- Obtain a written evaluation and recommendation from the Course Coordinator you assisted.
- This letter must be on official letterhead and signed and dated.
- Provide documentation of 30 hours of EMS instruction completed within the last year.
- Successfully complete the Course Coordinator Course and all co-coordination requirements within one year of application submission.
Your endorsement will authorize you to coordinate courses at or below your current EMS licensure level once co coordination at the desired level is complete and documented.
How to Apply
Follow these steps to register for the course:
- Visit emslicense.utah.gov
- Select Education, enter the course number, and register
- Begin the EMS Course Coordinator application
- Upload all required documentation
- Pay the $75 endorsement fee
- Complete the EMS Course Coordinator application
Note: Registration does not guarantee endorsement.
All eligibility requirements and course components must be completed successfully.
Application and Endorsement Requirements
To maintain and receive your endorsement, you must:
- Complete all Course Coordinator Course requirements and co coordination documentation within one year of application submission.
- Maintain an active EMS license and EMS Instructor endorsement.
- If either lapses, the Course Coordinator endorsement becomes invalid until renewed.
The Course Coordinator endorsement is valid for two years, subject to renewal and continued compliance with Utah BEMS standards.

- The Course Coordinator endorsement is valid for two years.
- You must complete all certification requirements within one year of completing this course.
- Registration and course completion do not automatically grant endorsement. Approval is contingent upon meeting all requirements and Department approval.
