Course Coordinators
The Bureau has available a list for your benefit to assist with obtaining psychomotor skills examiners. The Bureau does not endorse any individual on the list. It is the responsibly of the course coordinator to utilize the public portal search to verify credentials of EMS Instructors. To obtain a copy of the spreadsheet please email ems@utah.gov.
INITIAL EDUCATOR ENDORSEMENT
Dates and locations for future endorsement training courses can be found in Upcoming Events.
EMS Instructor Endorsement
- Must be currently licensed in the State of Utah as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic for a minimum of two years
- submitone letter of recommendationregarding EMS skills and teaching abilities from a licensed or designated agency, which must be on department or agency letterhead and signed;
- submit documentation of 15 hours of teaching experience with teaching experience in EMS or other related medical discipline, such as first aid or CPR, being preferred; and
- successfully complete the department-sponsored initial EMS instructor training course and sign a contract.
- Submit documentation to verify you have provided a minimum of25 patient contacts within the prior year with a licensed or designated agency or an emergency health care facility. Documentation must be on department or agency letterhead and signed.
- Pay the $150 endorsement fee.
EMS Course Coordinator Endorsement
- Must be currently licensed in Utah as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
- Must be a currently certified EMS Instructor.
- Must be the co-coordinator-of-record for a class coordinated by a current Course Coordinator.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from the Course Coordinator including the course number.
- Complete an EMS Course Coordinator course and sign a contract.
- Pay the $75 endorsement fee.
EMS Training Officer Endorsement
- Must be currently licensed in Utah as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
- Must have completed a minimum of 30 hours of EMS instruction within the past year and have a current EMS instructor endorsement
- Complete an EMS Training Officer course and sign a contract.
- Pay the $75 endorsement fee.
RENEW EDUCATOR ENDORSEMENT

EMS Instructor Endorsement
- Must be currently licensed in Utah as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
- Must be a currently endorsed EMS Instructor.
- Complete renewal course for EMS Instructor.
EMS Course Coordinator Endorsement
- Must be currently licensed in Utah as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
- Must be a currently endorsed EMS Instructor.
- Must be a currently endorsed EMS Course Coordinator.
- Complete renewal course for EMS Course Coordinator.
- Submit EMS Course Coordinator contract.
- Must coordinate or co-coordinate at least one department-approved course every two years and submit a signed verification letter.
Training Officer Endorsement
- Must be currently licensed in Utah as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
- Must be a currently endorsed EMS Instructor.
- Must be a currently endorsed EMS Training Officer.
- Complete renewal course for EMS Training Officer.
- Submit EMS Training Officer contract.
